Since I mostly use natural yarns *1, and herbal dyed also, you have to be careful when washing the tablet woven braids or trims.
My handmade braids , I deliver to you in the not pre-washed state, because then you have the option of which I am provoundly convinced:
You can wash the fabric and the ribbon together.
The washing temperature and program depends always on the more sensitive
material.
For
many braids I use natural and handspun yarns as pure linen or wool herbal
dyed. For these authentic trimmings I absolutely recommend an authentic way of
washing, namely, a hand wash with warm water and mild detergent
or a special one for wool. For silk, I even use baby shampoo.
Wool and silk should always be washed as cold as possible and not wrung, rubbed or drawn. Wool, like the human hair, a scaly surface and mechanical stress, the fibers interlock like hooks and mat so quickly. Silk should never be washed especially with sharp bases, otherwise it becomes brittle and loses its brilliance. Lay the garment flat on a towl and let it dry. Please do not expose in the blazing sun, because as the herbal colors could suffer and silk could become brittle .
If you have to iron a garment with a sewn on tablet woven braid, please use a slightly dump towl between the fabric and the iron.
No aggressive detergents, no tumble dryer, no blazing sun, no rubbing, scratching or other rude treatment for your precious tablet woven braids.
For damage caused by improper care, we do not assume any liability.
*1 Braids with Gold- oder Silverlahn, Lurex (5% lurex on a viscosewick, natural fibres, made of herbal cellulose) are especially notified.
